This term during our Inquiry studies we have been looking at Matter:
We have learnt that
Ø Matter exists in different states (gas, liquid and solid)
Ø Matter can change from one form to another, but is not always reversible
Ø There are differences between the processes of mixing, dissolving, melting, boiling and evaporating.
Ø There are many different types of scientists.

We have asked many questions

Ø How can matter change states?
Ø What causes matter to change states?
Ø What changes are permanent?
Ø What processes can be used to change matter?

We have conducted many different experiments showing us the ways matter changes and the processes it takes to make these changes.

We are currently writing a report on Jelly Crystals and how they change.
Below is what we have written so far:
The Jelly Experiment

Jelly crystals are a solid matter.

Before we put the hot water in the jelly crystals, they looked like sparkly sand. When we added hot water, the jelly crystals dissolved and changed into a liquid. After we finished stirring the liquid, we put it in the staffroom fridge. We let it set in the fridge overnight.
